A professional and enthusiastic individual is required to fulfil the role of Group Building Control Surveyor. The Group Building Control Surveyor (GBCS) role is in effect, the Deputy Manager of the Building Control Team. The GBCS is the focal point for resolution of technical issues and challenges for North Tyneside Building Control as they will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to the team.

The role also involves the overseeing of Surveyors’ work and to provide a second opinion or resolve a design issue and provide a full range of Building Control functions and services for the Council. This post is a permanent role.

The Building Control Service is managed via a partnership with Capita and this post is a Council post seconded to Capita.

This is a varied and challenging role - providing excellent opportunities to help progress your career in Building Control.

The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, self-motivated professional with the relevant level of qualifications, Building Control experience, and preferably have a reasonable level of management experience.
