Further Information
Do you enjoy collaborating to make a difference to people’s lives?

Do you thrive on supporting the workforce to improve their prospects?

Are you a catalyst for change?

We want to create a world where more people enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle. Across our region, we want everyone to have an equal opportunity to be active in their own way – particularly those who need it most – boosting health and happiness.

Our mission is to enable our system partners to see things differently, work smarter and maximise their results. As an experienced and knowledgeable strategic agency, we will ensure that physical activity is part of a successful solution, playing its part in delivering a range of outcomes. We take a whole systems approach and push for change at a population level – so we think differently and challenge the status quo. We will share best practice, provide advice, guidance and support and connect our partners with like-minded allies to help make the most of their opportunities.

We will:

• Catalyse change – we believe that change is possible and we’re ready to lead the exploration.

• Positively disrupt – to challenge the norm and cause radical change through innovation.

• Collaborate – together we are greater than the sum of our parts.

As Empowering People Development Manager, you will lead on the Sport England workforce investment to develop and deliver workforce plans which meet the needs of inactive people and those who want to remain active across Northumberland and Tyne and Wear. It will be your responsibility to lead the Charity’s work in relation to leadership, volunteering and apprenticeships programmes in Northumberland and Tyne and Wear. Other elements of your role will include budget management responsibility for workforce development workstreams and programmes within the Charity and supporting the Empowering People Strategic Lead in driving forward the professional development of the Charity’s staff team.
