Improvement Support Manager
24 Month Temporary Contract

Durham County Council has developed an improvement programme for its children’s and young people’s services. This is critical to our ambition to support children, families and communities to have independent, healthy and fulfilling lives, whilst ensuring that our services are effective and financially sustainable.

The improvement programme covers a range of children’s services including social care, education and early help/specialist services and is intended to re-shape and transform the way services are delivered.

We therefore require 2 experienced improvement managers to drive the delivery of these projects, ensuring that they achieve the required outcomes on time and to budget.

We are looking for people with:
• The experience and ability to set up projects from scratch and facilitate stakeholders to scope out the project(s), develop project definition documents and put in place arrangements to successfully manage the project
• The ability to develops project plans at different levels for different audiences and manage project meetings effectively
• The ability to analyse data and identify options or recommendations
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with experience of working with a broad range of stakeholders, driving forward project delivery and resolving or escalating blockers
