Further Information
Due to developments within the service, an exciting opportunity has arisen for someone who is keen, enthusiastic and dynamic to support challenging, hard to reach families within Early Help and Prevention.

Based in Early Help and Prevention, you will work alongside partners such as health, education, housing and the DWP, to address what’s going on for the whole family. You’ll use tenacity and creativity to engage often quite resistant families who may have previously avoided services. You will utilise a Signs of Safety approach to highlight the family’s strengths and build on this, enabling the family to manage with the support of a family network so that you can withdraw.

You will be assertive with families when addressing often acute problems including domestic violence, unemployment, substance misuse, truancy, anti social behaviour and mental health and you will work alongside other professionals to streamline those involved and encourage them to think and work differently to address such issues.

The posts are based across our locality teams and Early Help Hub within the MASH, so families can be offered the right support at the earliest opportunity.

Please be advised that this position will require an Enhanced check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

North Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

In addition, staff and volunteers are expected to familiarise themselves with all relevant policies, procedures and guidance in relation to safeguarding children and safe practice with vulnerable adults. Within North Tyneside, safeguarding is everybody’s business.
