New College Durham Academies Trust comprises of two large Academies, Consett Academy and North Durham Academy, located some six miles apart in North West Durham. North Durham Academy is seeking to appoint an Attendance Manager.

Attendance Manager
Grade 5 – Term Time + 1 week
£24,337 - £27,408 pa (actual salary)

The Attendance Manager is responsible for applying the attendance and punctuality policy and identifying children/families in need of support. You will lead assemblies for all year groups to raise the profile of attendance with students. You will give guidance, support and lead CPD where appropriate, to support Academy staff in regard to attendance policies and procedures and in relation to improving attendance of groups and individuals.

The successful applicant will promote the culture and vision of the academy by being a positive role model to all students, upholding a vision of inclusion and learning. Additionally, you will be expected to visit parents/carers in their homes to identify reasons for non-attendance and agree a course of action whilst offering support, care and guidance as required.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of attendance and have at least 2 years’ previous experience of working with in a school environment, supporting young people and their families. You must also have excellent communication skills, resilience, empathy and be able to work effectively under pressure.
