The Play Service is responsible for the delivery of play opportunities for children and young people across Gateshead. We are currently recruiting for Casual Play Workers to join our excellent team. We are looking for highly motivated individuals to fill a variety of roles. We welcome applications from those who have experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.



Successful candidates must be available to carry out one or both of the following roles:


Holiday Activities



We are seeking Casual Play Workers to support our holiday activities this summer and in future holiday periods. Successful applicants will be available to start on Monday 26th July 2021 for six weeks. Hours of work during holiday periods will be Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 4.00pm.


Community Outreach



We are seeking Casual Play Workers to provide 1 to 1 support for children and young people at weekends. Applicants will start as soon as possible and will be available to deliver one or more sessions per week.



Applicants must have experience of working with children and young people and planning and delivering activities. You will have knowledge of Inclusion and experience of consulting children and young people during planning. You will have a variety of knowledge, skills and experience which will support the service in ensuring that the children and young people of Gateshead have a fantastic time when attending our activities.
