Nexus is searching for an Apprentice to join the Signalling section of the Maintenance Delivery Department, commencing in September 2021.
The successful candidate will learn both at work and at college how to safely work on a modern Rail Signalling System. If successful you will be part of a team that will maintain and rectify faults on the Signalling Systems on the Tyne and Wear Metro’s network.
We are looking for a colleague who has a positive attitude towards learning, rules and procedures, a logical approach towards problem solving and who can remain calm under pressure.
In order to apply you must have or be predicted to have 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above which include English, Mathematics, and a Science.
The duration of your apprenticeship will be dependent upon your current level of qualification and any previous relevant prior learning, but it is expected to last 36 months.

During this apprenticeship you will study a Rail Engineering Technician Apprentice Framework (Level 3).
