The post on offer is based at the centre of the Council in the Resources Directorate which has key responsibility for managing the Council’s money and people as well as ensuring that democratic decisions are well informed and legally sound.

The Council’s services are underpinned by a strong adoption of technology which is delivered and managed by a forward-thinking internal IT Service provision. As such we are looking to recruit a creative and enthusiastic individual who will be key in supporting delivery of IT infrastructure services.

You will help to deliver work required by the Server and Networks Team within the IT Service and will be involved in the implementation, delivery, support & development of the Council’s core IT Infrastructure and supporting technologies.

We are looking for a suitably qualified individual looking to further extend their skills in IT infrastructure delivery and support. The suitable candidate should have a base knowledge of supporting IT server and network infrastructure and will get the opportunity to work in a progressive department using some of the latest technologies while ensuring the availability and security of the council services.

Technologies include.

• Cisco Enterprise Solutions including ACI, DNA, ISE, Cat 9K, Wireless, Routing and Switching, FPTD, AMP, Umbrella.
• Microsoft Server 2019, Hyper-V, DNS, DHCP, SCOM, M365, Azure, AoVPN.
• VMWare, Veeam, SAN’s. Load Balancers.
• Infrastructure Security.

The council holds ambassador status for the North East Better Health at Work Award.
