We are seeking to appoint a motivated and passionate early years specialist to join our successful team within the Early Years Service.

The purpose of this role is to achieve the highest standards of childcare provision across Sunderland schools, early years settings and childminders. This will be achieved through the provision of effective challenge, support and workforce development to raise the quality and standard of provision and improved outcomes. Additionally, the post holder will lead the development and implementation of the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment and follow up actions arising from the assessment. The role will also manage the tracking of childcare places, supply, demand and vacancies across all childcare providers

The successful candidate will have significant experience of working in the early years sector, knowledge and expertise in childcare development, business support and financial planning, workforce development, supporting and processing grant applications as needed, policy template development, governance structures, roles and responsibilities of childcare staff and setting management. They will have up to date knowledge of EYFS, Ofsted’s Early Years Inspection Framework as well as Ofsted’s processes and regulations.
