New College Durham Academies Trust comprises of two large Academies, Consett Academy and North Durham Academy, located some six miles apart in North West Durham. New College Durham, is our lead sponsor and both Academies are located in multimillion-pound new builds, offering unrivalled state of the art facilities for our students and communities in Consett and Stanley.

North Durham Academy is seeking to appoint a SEN/D Manager.

SEN/D Manager
Grade 6 – Term Time + 2 weeks
£28,839 - £31,951 per annum (actual salary for TT+2 working pattern)

The SEN/D Manager is responsible for ensuring the Academy strategy for SEN/D is developed, monitored and measured inline with the SEN/D code of practice. You will report directly to the Leader of Deep Support and oversee SEN/D provision for all year groups. You will be expected to attend EHCP & SEN/D provision reviews. You will be responsible for writing and implementing EHCP applications.

The successful applicant will line manage the Harbour Manager and CSWs and be an exemplary leader in dealing with staff, learners, parents and outside agencies.

The successful applicant will promote the culture and vision of the academy by being a positive role model to all students, upholding a vision of inclusion and learning. Additionally, you will be required to plan a strategy for parental engagement.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate recent experience of working with SEN/D policy and practice and be able to evidence recent professional development in SEN/D practice. You must also have excellent communication skills, resilience, empathy and be able to work effectively under pressure.
