North Tyneside Council is looking to appoint two enthusiastic and flexible Caretakers to provide ancillary support and carry out front-line duties in Libraries, Customer First Centres and Community Centres. Candidates must be committed to providing a high quality service to our customers.
Duties include basic maintenance and repair of buildings and outside areas, setting up rooms for community use, providing excellent customer care to customers, porterage, reception and basic financial and admin procedures and use of the Council computer system.
You should have basic maintenance and repair skills and be able to carry out basic manual handling such as moving furniture, trolleys and boxes. You should also possess good inter-personal and ICT skills. Weekend working (paid at enhanced rate) is required on a rota basis. A comprehensive training programme will be given.
