The Service The post is based within the Housing and Public Protection Service. The Public Protection function is responsible for the delivery of a broad range of regulatory and enforcement activities, which are delivered across two business units, Business Compliance and Public Safety and Public Health Protection Unit. The Role Lead and co-ordinate the provision of strategic and statutory Trading Standards and Animal Health services across Northumberland, ensuring that corporate objectives and targets are met. Make a positive and effective contribution to the corporate management of the authority, the Public Protection Senior Officer Group, multi-partnership initiatives and community engagement. Act as service specialist officer in designated area(s) of work. Key responsibilities of the post include. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the teams which make up the service and be expected to provide leadership and direction in these areas. The Trading Standards function incorporates food standards, fair trading, metrology and consumer advice and this is complemented by the animal health team. Experience across all these areas leads to a challenging but exciting work streams. Act as a positive member of the Public Protection senior officer group, encouraging collaboration and enthusiasm for effective management, inspiring a culture that delivers results and service excellence, promoting NCC values and brand. Develop and manage key relationships and external stakeholders, partners, local and regional professional bodies. We are offering.
