We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and suitably skilled individual to join the team as the Trading Standards Team Leader. As the Team Leader you would be responsible for the management of a team of officers, enforcing the full range of Trading Standards legislation, including an intelligence-led inspection and test purchasing program, age restricted goods work, sampling, advice and education activities, investigations and enforcement.
Building good relationships, strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to identify income opportunities, the confidence to deal with challenging or difficult situations and a focus on results are essential for this post. The nature of the post will require a flexible approach to work including occasionally working outside what are regarded as normal hours.
Essential criteria for the post includes; a diploma in Trading Standards or a relevant consumer protection based qualification, over 5yrs years’ experience in dealing with businesses and consumers and at least 3yrs of experience in directing and supporting the work of a Team.
