We are seeking to recruit a nightshift Team Leader into our Children’s Short Break Services who can encourage a workplace culture based on respect and dignity for those requiring care and support.

Our Children’s Short Break Service

Grace House provides short break accommodation to children and young people between 5 and 17 years of age who have a range of disabilities including learning and physical disabilities, Autism and behaviours which might challenge and require differing levels of support to meet a range of social and sometimes complex health needs.

Our short break service requires a dynamic and motivated Team Leader with the ability to work in challenging environments, to undertake a lead role in ensuring the care and welfare of each child, and give guidance and support to all staff. The Team Leader is responsible for the co-ordination of staff on shift to ensure the needs of children and young people are met.

You will need to be motivated to engage children and young people in line with positive behavioural support to enable a positive outcome and be willing to undertake training to support children and young people with a range of health interventions.

As a Team Leader you will need to undertake a lead role within the team, give guidance and support to all staff. Working closely with the management team to ensure an outstanding service is delivered.

You will need to work effectively both as part of the Grace House team and within a multi-agency framework, ensuring the care and support provided enables young people to achieve their maximum level of independence through appropriate physical, emotional and psychological support including: intimate personal care, support with a range of health needs, practical tasks, appropriate communication and community involvement.

You will be required to assess and manage cases with a degree of complexity and risk, taking action to coordinate resources (including staff deployment) and support to maintain or improve the wellbeing of children and young people, which also includes providing personal and practical interventions to care and support young people in line with individual care plans, including liaising with families and health and social care professionals.
