The Trustees are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated individual to manage our HR Team. You will join our well-established central team in Newcastle with effect from May 2021 (or as soon as possible thereafter) in a key role providing support to the Chief Operating officer and Chief Executive Officer, in the provision of an efficient and responsive HR service to Laidlaw School Trust (LST).

LST is a growing multi academy trust in the North East of England, serving children and families in the west of Newcastle, Sunderland and Sedgefield. We pride ourselves in being a progressive, inclusive trust that supports every child to develop their talents whatever they may be and to reach their academic potential. It is important that as a learning organisation we adapt and change to the needs of our pupils. We take care to value and develop all colleagues to make sure they can do their very best for children across the Trust’s schools.

The ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified and have a proven track record of implementing and providing an excellent HR service and practice within an Education or Schools setting and preferably within a Multi Academy Trust (MAT). We are looking for candidates who will be able to drive forward the HR plan in line with the strategic priorities of the Trust. Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of managing an HR team is essential.

With over 5,000 children, excellent resources and a drive for continuous improvement, LST is actively seeking staff who want to make a difference and be part of this exciting phase of our development. At LST we are Ambitious & Progressive, Enterprising, Professional, Supportive and Passionate about everything we do – if you share these values and would like to be part of our growing team then we’d like to hear from you.
