Qualified Habilitation Specialist
Grade 10 £31,346 - £34,728

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Qualified Habilitation Specialist or Qualified Rehabilitation Officer willing to undertake the Graduate Diploma: Habilitation Work – Working with Children and Young People – Top Up Degree - BSc (Hons). In order to provide the mobility training and independent living skills support required by children and young people (0-19 years old) who have a visual impairment.

The post is currently based at Belmont C of E Primary School in Durham and involves travelling, to work with children in their home, pre-school settings, schools, and colleges and within the local community.

You will need your own transport arrangements to enable you to travel distances between schools and family homes across County Durham.

You will be providing advice and training to parents/carers and a range of education, health and social care professionals as part of multi-disciplinary working. You should have a flexible approach to work and have excellent interpersonal skills.

The successful applicant will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.

It is expected interviews will take place week commencing 26th April 2021.

There is a proposed start date of September 2021 however, dependant on the appointed candidates experience this could be brought forward if required.
