The Northumberland Low Incidence Needs Team - Sensory Support Service A highly motivated Qualified Teacher of Children and Young People with Vision Impairment (QTVI) is required to join our dynamic team, which provides support to children and young people with a vision, hearing, or multi-sensory impairment across Northumberland.

Our QTVI’s provide specialist support in a peripatetic capacity for blind and visually impaired children and young people, their parents/carers, schools, and settings.

Applications are invited from qualified and experienced Teachers of Children and Young People with Vision Impairment (QTVI.

The role:
Ideally the successful candidate will have:
- Specialist mandatory qualification in teaching children and young people with a vision impairment.
- An innovative, effective, and creative approach to teaching
- Excellent communication skills
- Recent experience of working in a variety of educational settings with children and young people with a range of SEND.
- The ability to work with colleagues, parents/carers, and other relevant professionals.
- A commitment to work as part of a team to deliver a provide experience for all children and young people across the county.
- Own transport to enable travel between educational settings across the county.
- 0.8 FTE

As this post involves working with children writing references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage.

- A permanent position - Salary MPS/UPS pre annum plus SEN 2
- Teachers’ Pension Scheme
