A committed person is needed to join our team of instructors delivering 'Bikeability' training to primary school children throughout the borough of Gateshead.

You will be working with and encouraging children to be safe and confident cyclists so experience of cycling and working with children are essential. You will also assist with other projects which aim to raise the profile of cycling amongst local and school communities.

The training will take place in schools during school hours. The hours will be 22.5 hours per week, term time only between March and December and salary is paid pro rata over 52 weeks.

Salary amounts quoted are from 1 Sep – 31 Aug and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year they are subject to an equated salary adjustment.

This position would best suit a candidate who is a competent
cyclist and passionate about increasing the level of cycling in the area and working with and developing young people. You will be able to work independently as part of a team and follow programmes or lesson plans. You should have a good standard of numeracy and literacy. It would be an advantage to have knowledge and experience delivering cycling, road safety education and training. You should have a full driving licence, access to a car or means to mobility support.
