We are looking to recruit six Senior Resource Workers that will be based in the Resource team, matrix managed within the Assessment Service. The Senior Resource Workers will undertake a range of tasks and will be responsible for the delivery of early interventions and specialist assessments. The senior worker will support families who access social work services, including using the Solihull Approach, Triple P Parenting Program and carrying out PAMS assessments.

Some of your responsibilities will include supporting the Assessment Social Worker’s at the first point of contact to a family whereby interventions will be offered at the earliest opportunity to prevent children becoming looked after. This will include providing a flexible approach to families and working outside of normal working hours at times should the service need require this.

Middlesbrough Council are investing in the development of this Resource Service and it is currently under review, therefore, working arrangements may vary from the time of appointment. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dedicated and passionate team that will deliver interventions, which bring together families, members of the community and service providers to prevent children becoming looked after. There will be an opportunity to discuss the review and how this may affect working arrangements during the period of interview and appointment.

You will need to be committed to improving outcomes for children and promote the child's wishes and feelings. You will develop good joint working partnerships, with families, children and young people and their significant others, as well as undertaking effective joint working within Social Care and with multi-agency partner agencies.

You must have experience of working with children and families and working with people from other agencies. A recognised Child Care qualification (minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent), and a relevant degree or the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the relevant theoretical concepts is required.

You may need to work unsociable hours to meet the needs of families including evenings and weekends, in line with the outcome of the review of the role and ongoing consultation. You will also have to travel as part of this role.

A Full UK Driving License and access to a car is a requirement for this post.

For further information please phone Rebecca Cheesman or Sam Port on 01642 726004.

The above post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
