If you are passionate about the local environment and the community benefits it provides, then an exciting opportunity exists for you at North Tyneside Council: We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced people to join our seafront team.

You will be required to maintain North Tyneside Council’s beaches and coastal infrastructure to the standards required to attain the international Blue Flag Awards and the National Seaside Awards administered by Keep Britain Tidy and ensure the coast is a place where people want to live, work and visit. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and of driving and operating 3.5 tonne side lift cleansing vehicles and using cleansing equipment.

You will need to be able to work independently and use your own initiative and work proactively with all members of the wider team including external agencies.

A disposition to promote high standards of maintenance and customer service will be required to provide a clean, tidy and enjoyable coastal environment. You will be an integral member of Local Environmental Services team ensuring North Tyneside is a great place to live, work and visit.

This post is 35 hours per week, fixed term for 22 weeks.
