For passengers and freight, Transport North East oversees strategic transport planning at a regional level on behalf of the North East Joint Transport Committee, representing the seven local authorities in our region.
The recent publication of the North East Transport Plan, and the Government’s Bus Strategy is a game changer for public transport in our region. Rapidly, we will be moving towards partnership working with bus operators to deliver a network to help our region recover economically, and prosper in the long term.
We’re looking for a fixed term Project Manager in our bus partnerships team to support us through this transformational journey. The post is temporary for approximately 6 months.
You will provide a professional project management role within the bus partnership team, assisting in the development of project scopes and objectives, creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation and developing a detailed project plan to track progress. Your role will be critical in ensuring that the bus partnership project is delivered within tight timescales, within scope and within budget.
You will need to demonstrate previous experience of managing complex projects and show an in depth understanding of appropriate techniques to manage project risks and control any changes in project scope, programme or costs. You will be required to establish project performance metrics and provide regular project highlight reports for senior stakeholders, so you will be able to write and communicate to an excellent standard.
