We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated HR professional to join our team as HR Advisor.
Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust is a family of 5 secondary schools and 21 primary schools from across Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham and Northumberland, in the west of the Diocese. The Trust will expand to a total of 48 schools by 2022. This is an exciting time to join our supportive, and growing team.
As HR Advisor you will be responsible for the provision of a high-quality and professional HR service that is focussed on supporting the schools in our Trust to achieve outcomes in line with their vision, purpose, priorities, and objectives.
In this role you will be responsible for:
• Providing advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures, and terms and conditions of employment in line with the School Teacher’s Pay and Conditions Document, Local Government terms and conditions and current employment legislation
• Supporting school leaders on a range of complex people related issues including matters related to discipline, grievance, performance and attendance management
• Delivering projects relating to changing terms and conditions of employment, restructuring and TUPE transfers
The successful candidate will be CIPD qualified and have experience of working in a similar HR generalist role in a schools/education or in a local authority setting. In addition, you will have a proven track record in building and developing effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels, whilst also influencing and providing challenge. You will enjoy a varied workload, be forward-thinking and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to be able to advise on all aspects of HR related matters. An ability to prioritise a busy workload and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment is also essential.
We are working remotely currently. Travel will be required across the schools in the Trust.
