The Adults & Communities Directorate consists of three strands, Adult Social Care, Community Development and Public Health, which includes the Culture and Tourism Service. Our aims are to continue to provide essential and highly valued services and to build capacity to enable local communities to make lasting change, improve quality of life and prosperity. As a directorate we lead on developing a culture of co-operation and co-production, respecting and nurturing the skills and talents of local people and enabling them to fulfil their potential.

We are seeking an innovative and highly experienced Cultural Development and Programmes Manager, to join the Culture and Tourism Service, to lead and manage the strategic development and direction of creative and cultural programmes and events and act as deputy for the Head of Service when required. The successful candidate will have significant experience and background in developing, producing and delivering high quality creative and cultural programmes, in particular large scale outdoor events.

This is a key senior role for the service and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape, influence the cultural development, strengthen the capacity of our cultural sector, increase participation, harness local talent and help to demonstrate the impact that arts and culture can have on a place.

We are looking for someone that has excellent sector knowledge and a strong track record in partnership working, programming and commissioning within the cultural sector. The role requires someone with a good track record in fundraising within the cultural sector to support programmes of work, increase the year-round cultural offer and support the growth of our cultural sector.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to help shape and develop an exciting vision for Culture within Redcar and Cleveland that creates opportunities for residents and visitors to engage in exciting cultural activity, develops our cultural infrastructure and creates equality of access for all.

If this sounds like you and you have the knowledge alongside the passion to help us achieve our vision, then we would love to hear from you.
