Senior Communications and Engagement Officer (12 months)
“Moving to a green, healthy, dynamic and thriving North East” is our region’s vision for transport. For passengers and freight, Transport North East oversees strategic transport planning at a regional level on behalf of the North East Joint Transport Committee, representing the seven local authorities in our region.
There are two vacancies at Transport North East (TNE) to drive content around region-wide transport planning and delivery including active travel campaigns, public transport and more.
The work of Transport North East is guided by North East Joint Transport Committee (NEJTC) which is a body that brings together the two Combined Authorities for the area: the North East Combined Authority (covering Durham, Gateshead, Sunderland and South Tyneside), and the North of Tyne Combined Authority (covering Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland).
Using your skills, you will help to forward our ambition of "Moving to a green, healthy, dynamic and thriving North East" as outlined in the new North East Transport Plan. Gateshead Council are progressing the recruitment to these exciting roles.
You’ll be joining the team during an exciting period as we look to deliver a range of communications campaigns in the coming months including regional events around active travel.
In these regional roles you will be required to confidently and competently work with your counterparts across the North East so the ability to work collaboratively will be important.
