Further Information
A number of exciting opportunities have arisen with the Family Support Service, with post available in both our Initial Response Service and Long-Term Service. We are looking to appoint enthusiastic individuals to join our Children’s Social Care Service as a Family Support Worker. You will be part of delivering first-class social work services for vulnerable children, young people and families.

This role offers the perfect opportunity to undertake focussed and purposeful family support direct in the family home, or other settings as required. Working closely with other highly skilled professionals, you will be part of a small team in our wider service for children and families.

You will benefit from increased co-working with social work colleagues who will have the time to do enhanced face to face social work. You will be encouraged to develop your skills within this role and provided with opportunities for further training and development.

You must be dynamic and be an enthusiastic team player who is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for children in Newcastle.

As this post involves working with children, vulnerable adults or dealing with sensitive information, written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage; even if you indicate otherwise.
We are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and a range of other recruitment checks.
