An opportunity has arisen for a full time Administrative Assistant to work as part of a small admin team within the North Locality Children’s Services Team based at McDonald House in Berwick upon Tweed. This is a busy admin team and your role within it will be to ensure that the day to day essential administrative tasks are carried out. The role is varied and tasks will include:
1, Typing of documents, such as meeting minutes and letters.
2, Attendance at meetings to take minutes, ensuring they are distributed as requested.
3, Procurement - the raising and receipting of requisitions and the processing of invoices for payment.
4, Cash handling and the reconcilliation of petty cash (including cash and cheques).
5, Dealing with both incoming and outgoing mail, following established procedures.
6, Receiving telephone calls and dealing with visitors to the building, answering enquiries in line with customer service standards.
7. Maintaining records, always ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
8, General admin tasks such as photocopying, scanning, uploading, and preparation of materials.
The ability to organise your own workload with limited supervision, managing confilicting demands and the ability to deal with change are all essential in this role. This is a very supportive / collaborative team where communication is essential and a commitment to the provision of a quality service is expected.
