Working within the Customer Service Centre at the Town Hall, this varied role is fundamental in the Council’s goal of providing an excellent customer experience. You will be dealing with a variety of calls, e-mails and face-to-face visits for a number of local services. This is a real opportunity to help members of the community on a daily basis.

You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to listen, acknowledge, clarify, respond appropriately and check customer understanding. You will need to be flexible, able to multitask, be focused, and work effectively as a team member. You will have a passion for helping others and challenging processes that stand in the way.

You must be computer literate with experience of Office packages. Effective keyboard skills and the ability to accurately capture data while managing customer expectations are essential.

The Customer Service Centre comprises of a Call Centre, Face-to-Face Visitor Centre and Reception points. Some work may be completed within the back office service area.
