We are now looking to recruit a highly skilled information security professional to join our Digital and ICT team to help deliver that vision.
You will play a key role in delivering and implementing information security policies and procedures across the Council. This is a crucial role supporting the Council’s Digital and ICT Strategy. We are looking for an experienced information security professional who can:

• Assess and approve/reject requests for exemptions to existing information security policies in line with operational requirements. This could include firewall access, external access to Council systems and infrastructure, access to individual D&ICT accounts etc.
• Work with colleagues from Data Protection, Information Governance, services and within D&ICT to ensure the security of the Council’s data and information at all time.
You will have experience in delivering and developing security policies, understanding of key security standards (Cyber Essentials, PCI-DSS and Data Protection), be able to respond and investigate information security incidents and have the ability to champion the importance of information security.
