Improvement Support Officer
(Quality Assurance and Improvement, Children’s Services)

We want South Tyneside's children and families to have the best start in life and aspire to a bright and prosperous future. We work together with partners across the Borough to deliver service for children, families and carers that make a real difference to their choices and prospects.

This is a great opportunity to join a busy and creative Quality Assurance and Improvement Team working across children’s services in South Tyneside. Your goal will be to support continuous improvement in service through engaging colleagues in testing, analysis and assurance providing a “line of sight” for the Director of Children’s Services and Senior Manager and leaders across Children’s Services (CFSC, SEND, Early Help).

You will have experience in assurance and/or improvement in a social care or health setting and be able to demonstrate how you have worked with services to deliver change. You’ll be great at building relationships with a range of stakeholders, and have the ability to bring together project teams.

You’ll support the development of strategy and self-assessment, and will be reporting regularly through Council and Partnership forums as well as drafting a range of briefing notes, presentations and proposals for our DCS and Heads of Service.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Coralie Morton on (0191) 424 7843.

South Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant pre-employment checks.

Closing date: Noon, 6 May 2021.
