Further Information
Following a recent service review, we have amalgamated all enforcement visits and inspections into a new and exciting role in our In-House Enforcement team.

As an Enforcement & Compliance Officer you will be responsible for carrying out property inspections and collecting and enforcing debt from council tax and business rates.

You will need to be confident, have excellent negotiation and communication skills and be firm and fair with residents in your approach to applying the law. You will need to be calm when under pressure from challenging situations and when dealing with problematic issues arising from the accumulation of debt. As well as this you will need to be able to recognise any safeguarding issues and assist and signpost vulnerable residents to appropriate support.

You will need to pass disclosure checks and have a valid ‘Taking of Goods’ Certificate.

As this post involves working with children, vulnerable adults or dealing with sensitive information, written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage; even if you indicate otherwise.

If you are enthusiastic and have the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to join our team we would like to hear from you.
