Xentrall Shared Services is a ground breaking public/public partnership between Stockton and Darlington Borough Councils. Our objective is to deliver excellent services to all, providing support and services to a range of customers including Local Councils, Schools and Academies and Direct Payment Clients.

The service has just undergone a major restructure and the team comprises of Payroll, Pensions, HR and Recruitment and Customer Engagement and System Support.
This post is new to the structure and will be based within the Payroll Team. We currently pay over 130 different companies and around 17,500 employees, with multiple pay groups and multiple payrolls - so this is a very busy service.

The main duties of this role will be administration and preparation of payrolls including the processing of starters, leavers and changes, payment reconciliation and payroll balancing on a monthly basis. Processing all types of absence including sickness, leave of absence and all parental leave type absences, which will include the monitoring of entitlements and processing half and nil pay letters, processing of tax and national insurance and other statutory payments.

We are looking for someone who has strong payroll knowledge, knowledge of UK legislation, particularly in relation to the local government sector and preferably with experience of using ResourceLink.

You need to have the drive and determination to do a good job and contribute to the success of our team and service. You must to be computer literate and have the ability to work to multiple deadlines with a very high level of accuracy. You will also need to demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships and promote our service positively, this will require you to be a good communicator.
