We are looking to recruit a new Early Help Family Worker to support families with children and young people 0-19 within Northumberland’s Supporting Families framework. Our team covers beautiful North Northumberland which is a large rural area covering from Berwick upon Tweed along down the coast line to Widdrington and across to Rothbury up into the Cheviots The role As you would expect, we are looking for self-motivated enthusiastic applicants, with effective communication skills who have a desire to make positive changes in families lives when times are tough for them. You will enjoy working as part of an established supportive team, but also be able to use your own initiative and work independently to manage your commitments. You will need to be competent in delivering training/programmes, completing assessments, working with individual family members, and supporting them together; also, able to work effectively alongside our partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and families. Northumberland County Council Social Care is currently in the process of implementing Signs of Safety and Wellbeing throughout the service; their commitment to the approach is supported with a high level of support and training for the workforce. You will have opportunities to develop and deliver training/programmes for the families you work with. There is an expectation you will be competent in assessment writing and planning holistic approaches to support the families you work with. There are opportunities to effectively establish positive working relationships partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children, families, and the communities we cover. Base for mileage and office facilities is Wooler Fire Station
Essential requirements: A minimum of Level 3 Childcare qualification or equivalent is essential, as is a good depth of understanding and knowledge of child / young person development. You need to show knowledge and experience of the Early Help Assessment process and be able to demonstrate an ability to chair TAF meetings and be competent using IT systems.
