Would you be interested in supporting pupils with additional needs such as, social, emotional and mental health issues as part of our inclusive ethos? The Governing Body of St. Helen’s Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed candidate to work within school to support individuals or small groups with their additional needs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to, work alongside and be part of our wellbeing/inclusive team, which is led by our Deputy Headteacher (Mr Newing), and SENDCo.

Many of the individuals you will be working with have SEMH issues, which influence their behaviour so it is vital that you have a patient, supportive and proactive approach to ensure pupils are able to succeed. A part of your role you will be expected to deliver 1:1 tailored sessions for pupils linked to their SEMH needs and you will act as a positive role model to all pupils.

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate the following:
You will need to be:
Dedicated to making a difference to the lives of our pupils, specifically those pupils who display ‘challenging’ behaviours linked to SEMH
Able to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
Resilient and have a positive approach and openness to trying new ideas at all times
Have the ability to work on a 1:1 basis or small group
Able to use own initiative and experience
Have the ability with support and guidance to plan activities for the targeted provision
Committed to working as part of a flexible, committed team
Dedicated in promoting the wellbeing of all individuals
Have knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection policies
Able to contribute to wider school effectiveness
