St. Helen’s Primary School is looking for a Senior Teaching Assistant (HLTA), who is passionate about education and has a flair for working with young people across all age groups in Primary education. Applicants should firmly believe in our school ethos and culture to enable the effective delivery of lessons, so that all pupils make progress. This role will play a pivotal part in ‘St. Helen’s Covid catch up recovery’, enabling targeted support to pupils across the school.

St. Helen’s Primary School has 297 pupils inclusive of a 26 place Nursery and a 16 place 2-Year-Old provision. We have above average FSM and deprivation. The vision for St. Helen’s Primary School is to ‘enable all pupils (no matter what their background or starting point) to achieve their full potential and promote the school as a ‘beacon’ of the community, where aspirations are achieved and dreams are a reality for all pupils, staff and families’.

St. Helen’s Ofsted in January 2019 judged all areas as ‘Good’. The inspectors recognised the team ethos and how this has made a significant contribution to school improvements and how “The Headteacher has established a culture of high expectation that has transformed the learning environment”.

The successful candidate should have:

Experience of working across the Primary Age Range
Good understanding of the Early Years and National Curriculum
Excellent communication skills
A positive attitude, flexibility and adaptability
Ability to engage and deliver lessons under the guidance of a teacher/colleagues
Proven impact on attainment and achievement through Quality First Teaching and Targeted Intervention
