The Trustees are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Maths for the Laidlaw Schools Trust of which Sedgefield Community College is a part, with effect from September 2021.

Would you like to progress your career under the guidance of a school judged by OFSTED as ‘outstanding’? As an NQT or RQT, would you like to have a low teaching load and the personal support of a dedicated and outstanding teacher as you develop your practice? Would you like to receive an above average starting salary and subsidised home/school transport? Would you also like to accelerate your development through having the opportunity to teach and develop in a range of different schools that are part of the Laidlaw Schools Trust, which consists of Sedgefield Community College, Academy 360 and Excelsior Academy at Secondary level? If the answer to each of these questions is ‘yes’ and you wish to progress your career under the direction of an outstanding and supportive Maths faculty, mentor, and subject leader, then we think we have an opportunity that could be right for you.

We particularly welcome applications from those who are relatively new to the profession and those who will newly qualify in 2021.

If you are someone who has the ability to engage and enthuse students with a love of Maths, coupled with the drive and commitment required to become a truly outstanding teacher, then we would like to hear from you.

Laidlaw Schools Trust is a growing multi-academy trust in the North East of England, serving children and families in Sedgefield, the west of Newcastle and in Pennywell, Sunderland. We pride ourselves in being a progressive, inclusive trust that supports every child to develop their talents whatever they may be and to reach their academic potential. It is important that as a learning organisation we adapt and change to the needs of our pupils. We take care to value and develop all colleagues to make sure they can do their very best for children across the Trust’s schools. Our Academies also enjoy strong support from an experienced LST central team, based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
