Gateshead Council are a further education provider who deliver high quality courses to adults and young people across Gateshead and the wider North East, recognised by Ofsted as a Good provider (Jan 2020). We are currently recruiting sessional tutors who are able to deliver a range of high-quality courses to diverse groups of mixed ability adults and young people, in a variety of settings across Gateshead. We require tutors who have experience of teaching from entry level upwards in the following disciplines:


Yoga

Counselling Skills

Digital Skills (Business)

Social Media

Mindfulness and wellbeing

Arts and Crafts

Flower arranging

Environmental studies

Career Guidance

Taking into account the diverse needs of our learners, it is essential that you have knowledge of and an understanding of Equal Opportunities policies and procedures and methods of widening participation in community learning.

As an experienced practitioner, you will have knowledge of safeguarding and Prevent policies and procedures.

All programmes are subject to Ofsted inspection and therefor require staff who are able to deliver within the Inspection Framework and quality standards.

Staff are responsible for the Health and Safety of their programmes and therefore knowledge of this legislation is essential.

You will have experience of improving the quality of learning while assessing, planning, writing, delivering and evaluating both accredited and non accredited programmes.

You will effectively review, monitor and offer guidance to young people and adults.

You will have experience of working under your own initiative to organise and prioritise your work, be able to use ICT effectively and be able to work within a flexible learning environment.

You will need to have an appropriate qualification or experience (if a qualification does not exist) of your specialist subject to teach, a minimum of a level 4 teaching qualification and GCSE (Grade 4 or Grade C or above) qualifications in Maths and English or equivalent.
