An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Bereavement Services at Gateshead Council.
This post is to work within the Administration Section of Bereavement Services. The key role of this team is to provide a friendly, compassionate and efficient front-line service and to undertake the administration of Bereavement Services in accordance with current procedures and guidance.
You will be required to help ensure that all Cremation and Burial documentation is accurate and in place before a funeral can legally take place. A high level of customer care skills is essential as you will be communicating with bereaved family members with regards to funeral services and also memorialisation and genealogical searches.
You must have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure. You must also be able to prioritise your workload to meet conflicting demands of the service. You will be required to handle information sensitively and confidentially and have a methodical and flexible approach to work.
Previous knowledge of administration of Bereavement Services is desirable but not essential as training will be delivered. You must hold an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.
