This is an exciting post with our core vision in mind; the implementation of a high quality curriculum. This will include the continuing development of our curriculum and leading learning so that teachers can engage and inspire future generations of our students. The successful candidate will be a classroom teacher of the highest calibre, who can mentor other colleagues, with varying levels of experience, inspiring them to become more effective practitioners.
All Lead Practitioners have responsibilities both within and beyond their Faculty and therefore the role provides outstanding professional development opportunities as well as providing an excellent opportunity for an ambitious colleague to develop their leadership skills further. They will work closely with the Deputy Headteacher: Quality of Education.
The successful candidate will have:
• A genuine love of Science and its impact on young people’s lives;
• A proven track record of raising and maintaining high educational standards in Science;
• Significant experience of leading teaching and learning initiatives beyond
their own classroom to raise standards; • An acute awareness of how Science can engage and inspire young people;
• Ability to interpret and act on a wide range of key data;
• An excellent knowledge of curriculum development and examination schemes of work;
• Ability to successfully build teams and motivate others;
• Have the ability to engage and inspire pupils and build excellent relationships.
