Post title: Family Support Worker – full time – permanent

Salary: £21,748 - £24,491 Grade 6

Job Location: An approved team location, however you may be required to work at any DCC council office.

The Family Support Worker is required to provide practical help at the earliest opportunity to enable families to make significant and sustained changes that will impact positively upon themselves and their children.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Building and maintaining high quality and appropriate professional relationships with children, young people and their families to enable positive change to take place.
• Working with parents to enable them to identify, acknowledge and meet their own and their children’s needs, develop life skills, make and sustain effective change and reduce vulnerability.
• Working within the Single Assessment Framework and ‘Team around the Family’ processes, contributing to whole family assessments and care planning and liaising with other relevant partners as appropriate.
• Being accountable for and reviewing own practice using supervision, reflective practice and other opportunities for continuous professional development.

Essential qualifications : Level 3 qualification in a relevant Children's Services field and evidence of continuous professional development.
