Further Information
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the continuing development of the educational provision in the wonderful community of Wooler. From September our school requires a super teacher(s) to join our small but perfectly formed team! Following the promotion of one of our full time teachers and a move abroad for one of our part-time teachers we need a special person (or persons) to join our school family. Initially this is a fixed term, 1 year appointment and would be suitable for a newly qualified or recently qualified teacher as well as more experienced colleagues. The curriculum areas that we are seeking to recruit into are for Key Stage 3 maths and physical education, computing and French across all year groups in our middle school. We appreciate that finding that special person who would be able to teach across these diverse subjects might be a challenge so we are open to applications from teachers who have the required subject specialisms but might want to teach part-time.

We need the following:
- P.E. across the school (equivalent to 2 days per week)
- Maths in Key Stage 3 (equivalent to 1 day per week)
- Computing across the school (equivalent to 1 day per week)
- French across the school (equivalent to 1 day per week)

We welcome applications from teachers able to teach all or some of these subjects and we are happy to discuss options for part-time work that combine some or all of the subjects above. One person teaching full time across all of these subjects would be ideal but it may be that you are skilled and experienced in two or three of these subjects and would like to work on a part-time basis – we are open to all possibilities!

Since 2015 Wooler First School and Glendale Middle School have shared a single site in Wooler. Our shared campus provides a special learning environment from Preschool through First School and up into our Middle School. The schools share a single site and although they remain separate schools we work very closely together to ensure the very best educational and personal outcomes for all of our learners.

Do you relish a challenge? Are you a strong team player? Are you ready to motivate, inspire and challenge the children in your care? You will be an excellent practitioner who, alongside effective teaching, pastoral skills and academic achievements, will be able to take a full role in the life of our schools. You will be well supported in the development of your teaching and learning skills and work with us in the continuing development of the ethos of our schools. You will enjoy working closely with pupils, parents and the wider community to further the school’s aims and objectives.

Glendale Community Middle School is a lovely place to learn and to work. We will have around 115 wonderful children in our school family this September along with a similar number of children in Wooler First School. We look forward to receiving applications from teachers with a passion and joy for teaching and learning.

If you are a superb teacher who has a true passion for teaching and learning we want you!

Visits to our school are strongly encouraged and can be arranged observing our current COVID secure procedures. Please contact the school office to arrange a mutually convenient time and date for a visit.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced criminal records check is required for this post.

Further information about the school can be found on our website.

Completed application forms should be returned directly to the school by post or by e-mail, no later than midday on Thursday 13th May 2021. Successful shortlisted candidates will be contacted individually to inform them of their interview which will be held in the week commencing Monday 24th May 2021.
