1FTE Executive Deputy Head Teacher
Salary: Leadership Pay Scale L4-8
£45,434 - £50,151
Required for September 2021
(The post is not open to job share)

We are looking to appoint an inspiring, motivated leader to become our Executive Deputy Head Teacher within our Shared Leadership Structure. We are now two years into a Shared Leadership Union which has been successful in both schools. Following the consultation, which is currently running, we hope to be officially federated by the end of the Summer 2021. In this instance, the contract of employment would lie with the federation and the successful candidate will be answerable to Governors who represent the interests of both schools as highlighted in the job description and person specification.

0.6FTE time of the post will be allocated to Broomhaugh and 0.4FTE will be allocated to Corbridge. Time will be planned and managed in liaison with the Executive Head Teacher. The post will be a combination of teaching and non-class based management time which will vary annually based on the school development plans and needs of the schools. On appointment, the Deputy will fulfill the role of Early Years Lead at Broomhaugh First School and have a teaching commitment in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

We invite applications from experienced leaders who have a passion for inspiring teaching and learning, and an understanding of small rural church schools. The successful candidate will be an experienced practitioner with extensive knowledge of Early Years as well as Key Stages 1 and 2. This opportunity will enable you to become part of two dedicated school teams working closely with the Executive Head Teacher to ensure both schools continue to thrive.

The suitable candidate will be able to promote our Christian ethos within the school communities and be dedicated to being the best they can be.

We are looking for someone who:
- is an outstanding and inspirational leader with proven management skills;
- has relevant teaching experience across the Primary age phase in multiple settings with extensive knowledge of Early Years as well as Key Stages 1 and 2;
- will motivate children and staff to achieve their full potential in school and in life;
- has high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour;
- has the ability and skills to successfully support others and build positive relationships;
- has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills;
- has the ability to promote the schools’ ethos and reputation within our communities;
- can manage their time efficiently and is hardworking and committed; and
- is motivated by working in partnership and developing outstanding teaching and learning opportunities for all.

In return we can offer:
- inspiring children, who are inquisitive and have a love of learning;
- welcoming and committed staff teams with supportive Governors;
- the chance to join a forward-thinking team who are dedicated to continuous improvement; and
- opportunities for continuous professional development.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and expect all staff to share this commitment. An Enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post.

We will be showing candidates around, socially distanced, on Tuesday 4th May 2021 at 5:15pm and on Friday 7th May 2021 at 4:00pm. This will begin at Corbridge C of E First School and candidates will then drive to Broomhaugh. Places must be booked in advance by emailing us on admin@corbridgefirst.northumberland.sch.uk to book your place. Times may need to be staggered depending on the number of candidates who wish to visit.

If you are unable to attend either of these dates, please contact the office, and if possible, we would try to arrange an alternative – 01434 632534.
