North Tyneside Council is looking for a highly motivated, customer focussed Surveyor who will support the Housings Property and Construction Service to deliver the Authorities Housing repairs and investment programmes.

The successful candidate must have experience of domestic property surveying and be able to identify property defects, create remedial repair scope of works and may be required to carry our quality assurance inspections following completion of works.

Applicants will be required to survey properties and create full replacement specifications, including kitchen and roof replacements and support the budget setting process. Experience in using Autocad software or kitchen design packages would also be advantageous.

You will need to have good construction related knowledge and experience and be prepared and willing to support a range of procurement and tendering activities.

The successful candidate will be expected to have an understanding of the Governments Decent Homes Standard, Homes Fit for Human Habitation legislation and Housing Disrepairs as well as having excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You will also be required to provide technical advice to tenants and colleagues as well as offering energy efficiency advice.
