We have two full-time time Social Work opportunities for experienced social worker to join the Looked after Children and Young People Service. You will need to be able to encourage, support and engage with children, young people, parents and carers to promote participation in all aspects of service delivery . You will have the ability to place the child/young person at the centre of all practice and decision making; knowledge & skills in identifying and implementing appropriate plans for children & young people; an understanding of child development; an understanding of the role and importance of policies and procedures; an understanding of and ability to apply relevant legislation and guidance. You will be able to demonstrate working with others and behaving in a way that respects the rights of others whilst taking into account their needs.

You will have experience of working in a statutory children and families social care setting in either safeguarding and/or working with looked after children & young people. Experience in assessment and analytical report writing is also essential.

You will have an understanding of child exploitation and be willing to take the lead on this across care, wellbeing and learning and will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills with partner agencies

It is essential that you have a recognised Social Work qualification, with a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience, and are registered with Social Work England. A current driving licence and access to a car, or means to mobility support is also an essential requirement of the post.
