An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Reference & Information Services Librarian to join the team at Stockton Libraries & Information Service to cover for the secondment of the existing post holder until 31 March 2023.

We’re looking for a highly motivated individual who has knowledge and experience of reference services, local history and family history resources. You will manage a team within Stockton Central Reference Library as well as provide support to all library staff with regard to the Libraries Connected Universal Information and Digital Offer. You will be responsible for selecting stock for the Reference Library and also co-ordinating reference materials across the borough. You will be pivotal in the promotion of information resources, both print and digital, to a range of audiences, as well as develop partnerships that will use and enhance the resources we have available, for example business support.

You will also work alongside the temporary Business and Intellectual Property Centre team as we develop this new service as a complement to the existing Reference, Information and Local Studies offer.

This post will also have a key role in leading and completing an ongoing Heritage Lottery project to catalogue and digitise images from the Head Wrightson photo archive which is in the care of Stockton Libraries and Information Services with its links to the Heritage Stockton webpage and the digitised Picture Stockton archive.
