Further Information
Are you an experienced manager who is passionate about delivering social welfare advice that can transform lives?

Citizens Advice Gateshead is a local charity that punches above its weight. As well as delivering digital advice to over 400,000 people every year nationally, our Local Advice service delivers easily accessible, impartial, quality social welfare advice, information and guidance to over 12,000 Gateshead residents a year, with the aim of shaping services around the individual needs of each person. We are now looking for an experienced Advice Services Manager to lead our Local Advice Service team into a new phase for the charity, building on its track-record that spans over 60 years.

This is a key appointment, and an opportunity for an experienced operational manager to join a leadership and management team that is passionate about continually evolving our services to meet the changing needs of our communities, and to find ways to deepen our impact, in pursuit of our vision of a fair society for all, with lives well lived.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Director, you will be responsible for leading the Local Advice Service, managing front-line social welfare team leaders and advisers (staff and volunteers) and their delivery of a full range of social welfare advice and practical problem solving, including welfare benefits, employment, housing, discrimination and debt. You will have a deep understanding of advice issues, capable of providing practical input into all aspects of delivery, quality and efficiency, whilst ensuring that the diverse expectations of our funders are met and exceeded. You will also recognise the importance of data analysis and market research in continually evolving our understanding of the needs of our clients, driving innovation in our methods for measuring impact and leading research and campaigns that make a tangible difference. Critically, you will also be a team player who's equally comfortable operating in either a strategic or operational context, and will be able to demonstrate an ability to develop meaningful relationships with key stakeholders to enable the expansion of our service offer through collaboration and change.

If this sounds like an opportunity you would be excited to pursue, please get in touch for an application pack to find out more about the charity, the role and how to apply.
