Principal Designate Headteacher for our new free special school based in Redcar and Cleveland- 100 place provision for learners aged 5-18 with social, emotional and mental health needs and some co-occurrence of autistic spectrum conditions. The school is due to open in autumn 2022.

River Tees Multi-Academy Trust is a small but growing Trust in the North East of England serving some of the most disadvantaged communities in the country. We are seeking to appoint a Principal Designate/Headteacher with the knowledge and skills to follow the Trust’s vision to deliver an exciting new free special school for the Tees Valley (based in Redcar and Cleveland). They will oversee the development of the curriculum offer with a focus on relational approaches and high quality outcomes and assist in the recruitment of a staff team who hold the Trust values and are passionate about offering the best education to all learners.

The successful candidate will work to establish an outstanding school, driving continuous improvement and raise outcomes for young people with special educational needs and disabilities. They will champion the needs of individuals through positive relationships and professional challenge as well as build highly effective relationships with pupils, families and communities.
