An exciting opportunity has arisen within a small and friendly team for a talented and motivated person to join the ICT Technical team in the role of Technical Analyst to maintain, support and develop the Council’s ICT infrastructure. Harnessing the latest technological advances, you will enable the council to host and deliver a wide range of ICT services.

You will have a solid background of 2nd line technical expertise in ICT infrastructure such as virtualisation platforms, Microsoft products, firewalls, networking etc. Since a significant element of the job involves patching and updating, you should ideally have some exposure to Nessus Professional. It would be an advantage if the candidate has had some exposure to PowerShell and/or Linux. Creating and maintaining machine images is also a key feature of the role.

The recruitment process will include a role related exercises alongside the formal interview. The successful candidate will be subject to a Basic Disclosure check in line with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (fee will be refunded).

There has been a Government consultation process involving residents and businesses regarding how a unitary council for North Yorkshire may look. This considers how local council services including those provided by Hambleton District Council should be delivered in the future. We are awaiting the outcome of the process.

If you are interested and would like further information, please contact Peter Barber, ICT Technical Team Leader (peter.barber@hambleton.gov.uk) for an informal discussion.

An application form must be completed. CVs alone will not be accepted.
