Further Information
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council prides itself on being a great place to work where staff are trusted, valued and supported to make a positive contribution at work.

At Stockton Learning and Skills Service, we are driven and committed to support Stockton-on-Tees residents and businesses to meet their full economic potential whilst improving opportunities, for wellbeing, and community integration in the Borough we serve. We have a very clear mission to create a brighter future for all.

Ofsted (2018) judged the service as being a 'good' learning provider and we now strive to become recognised as outstanding in all that we do.

As part of our Service offer, plans are in place to expand and diversify our curriculum offer in partnership with a range of community organisations, schools and businesses to deliver post-19 education & training. We are looking for tutors with subject specialist knowledge in ESOL, Family Learning, Arts & Crafts, Spanish, Counselling, Gardening, Sewing, Sports & Fitness and more.

Tutors will create their own delivery model to support learners through innovative practical projects or take the first steps to learn new skills with identified progression routes to higher levels to improve employment opportunities. Courses are also available to build confidence and develop new skills for personal benefit and wellbeing.

Applicants will need to have a teaching qualification and previous subject experience.

Please ensure you refer to the Job Description and the essential and desirable criteria in the Person Specification when completing the Personal Statement on the application form, as this information is used to select candidates for interview. Please make it clear on your application which subject you wish to teach.
