An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer 2 Science (Health) to join our ambitious team at Sunderland College, who have recently been recognised as the top college nationally and awarded the prestigious BTEC College of the Year in 2019 by Pearson.

This is an exciting time to become a Lecturer 2 Science (Health) within the Health and Care team. We are also delighted to be one of the colleges selected to launch the pilot T level in Health and Science in September 2021, along with the significant associated benefits to our staff, students and partner employers. In addition, following significant investment in resources last academic year (including our impressive health hub) we now have a £3 million pound investment for September 2021 in a new cutting-edge immersive environment for our T level delivery, which will include a 360 degree immersive visualisation ‘dome’ to allow our students to train in virtual reality environments.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for science and can support the delivery of science concepts within the health and care team in order to support and inspire learners to have lifelong careers in this key sector. We are particularly interested in innovative and creative practitioners who have experience at teaching science to 14-19 year olds and preferably have a clear understanding of the health sector through either previous employment or regular professional industry updating. As a Lecturer 2 Science (Health) you will be a key member of a collaborative team that focusses on providing excellent learner experiences through the quality of our teaching, learning and assessment.

Applicants for Lecturer 2 Science (Health) should have an appropriate science related degree and teaching qualification, together with experience of internal quality assurance processes. Within the personal statement, practical examples of how you fulfil the person specification and examples of your teaching practice should be included.

Due to the nature of this post you will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure Check.
