We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic people to join us on an apprenticeship programme. If you're looking for the opportunity to make a real difference and follow a stimulating and rewarding career, we would welcome an application from you to come and work with us as an Apprentice Library & Information Assistant working in various Libraries across the borough of Stockton on Tees

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council prides itself on being a great place to work where staff are trusted, valued and supported to make a positive contribution at work. We truly value our Apprentices. We recognise that Apprenticeships help us identify new talent, build new skills in our workforce, increase diversity in the workplace and help us to deliver our ambitious plans.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Stockton Libraries & Information aims to provide a quality, relevant, accessible and modern service which is responsive to the needs of the borough’s diverse communities.
Our nine libraries and two vehicles offer a wide range of services from books and eBooks to free computing and WIFI facilities, events and activities. We have reading groups for all ages, activities for children, families and adults, local and family history facilities and basic ICT training. Stockton Central Library has a small Innovation Station “maker space” and Thornaby Central Library has a small immersive projection room – the Imagination Station. The service is offered both through physical spaces and digitally.
We are looking for people who are enthusiastic about working with the public and engaging with local communities to support their reading and information needs; to help us to combat loneliness; to improve health and wellbeing across Stockton Borough. As with all library services, in response to COVID 19 we are having to think about how we can use digital platforms to continue activities moving forward. If you are looking to develop skills to help you into a job with a wide-ranging role in supporting people of all ages this apprenticeship could be for you.
